Star Wars: X-Wing Buyer's Guide
Star Wars: X-Wing is a fast and highly strategic space combat game for two players. The ships come prepainted and assembled so you can start playing right away. Fancy a fight between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader in an asteroid field? Read on!
Core Set
The Star Wars: X-Wing core set contains eveything you need to learn the game and start playing: 2 x TIE/In fighters, 1 x T-65 X-Wing ship, dice, cards, movement tools, tokens, and the rules.
The Core Set is a great money saver as buying these items separately would cost double the price.
Expansions
Before building your squad and purchasing extra ships, you will have to choose 1 of the 7 factions available as different factions cannot be mixed.
Squadron Packs that contain 3 ships are a great starting point for your collection.

Conversion Kits
The Second Edition of X-Wing was released in 2018. If you own ships from the first edition (2012-2017), you don't have to buy them again! Simply buy the conversion kit of your faction to get your hands on updated cards and ship tokens. If you are just starting, you can skip these kits unless you want a lot of upgrade cards without buying any ships.
Accessories
Once you have enough ships to deploy a 200 points squadron, you can look at upgrading your game components with products such as plastic maneuver dials, damage cards personalized for your faction, or a set of deluxe movement tools.
