Krampus is Santa Claus’ evil twin. Each year the horned devil would go out on Christmas Eve punishing the naughtiest of the naughty kids. He was so good at his job (as was Santa!), that Krampus’ list got smaller and smaller every year, until finally he hungered for new targets to inflict his pain and punishment on... Santa and his elves!
Krampus devised a plan to raid Santa’s Village and wreak havoc by spreading presents around the village to do harm to anyone that opens them! Of course, he is mixing in a few of Santa’s presents to be found as well to avoid suspicion.
Krampus will be putting a present token into play each Terror Phase by rolling a die and using the panic numbers to determine where the present goes. Anytime a Victim shares a space with a present they cannot resist the temptation and must open it. You are more discerning, however, and can choose to open it or not. Will you find a deadly Krampus surprise? Or a gift from Santa himself that will help you stop Krampus?
Santa’s Village overview
The North Pole is home to Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and of course the elves! The Village is very connected with an epic Christmas tree in the village center and all of the various locations around it. Careful, the elves may look cute, but they are charmingly annoying and you’ll be spending plenty of time dealing with them!
The Victims at this location are Santa’s elves! They are talkative, energetic, extroverted, and very, very annoying. Each time you move INTO a space containing normal Victims (aka Elves), you will lose 1 TIME for each Victim there.
That is really it for the special rules and the rest of the variation comes from the cards themselves. You may have to deal with a Blizzard, you may find some helpful items like a BB Gun, or even some Misfit Toys! Santa himself may even show up to lend a hand!
As Mrs. Claus or Cindy the Elf, you are just the right resident of the Village to put an end to the Nightmare before you!
